STUDIO MAARTEN BAAS
*All work here is exclusively by and for Studio Maarten Baas, NL.
I worked for Maarten in Holland for 3 years during which time he became Miami/Basel designer of the year.
I was focused on prototyping new collections, production of pieces, installing collections and live performances around the world.

Maarten directing from 20m cherry picker

12hr single continuous take of sweepers moving clock hands in real time.

2 bored council workers monotonously keep time for ever...

12hr single shot DVD of painting and cleaning a digital clock in real time and human size.

12 hr video looped to make a working clock of human proportions. We "performed" the clock live at Abu Dhabi Art Fair.

Launched in Milan as affordable design, the digital analogue clock can run as an app.

This 'man in a box' clock was the first physical clock we made to sell. Black clay and electronics.

A collection for NYC art collector Adam Lindemann. We built everything from a patch work of 90's car panels.

Many cars were bought and cut to pieces to find the perfect palette of 90's spray paint for each piece of furniture.

One armed arm chair. I prototyped, worked on the build and delivered in person to Adam's NYC town house.

Pouffe on wheels

Commissioned collection for a private collector in Chicago. I helped build and install in the US.

Detail of the Chicago installation.

I made the prototype for a new chair for the Groninger Museum, NL.

Maarten designed the dining room in the Groninger museum.

I made the prototype for this baby high chair in clay.
